Guillermo's sports file
Guillermo Alzuru's Sports File
Sports have always been my very favorite subject, and they still are my main hobby;
I enjoy playing any kind of game, and watching any kind of competition, individual
or teams, on the fields or on TV, professional or amateur, men or women. I also
love discussing sports with knowledgeable people, and reading sports material.
What I enjoyed the most now --- playing soccer, softball, racquetball and squash;
and watching my kids doing sports.
The biggest events in the world, in my opinion --- the World Cup Soccer, the Olympic
Games and the Baseball World Series.
As a fan --- I like following closely many sports, their statistics, milestones
and trivia. I love talking about sports with other knowledgeable fans. I also
like writing about them.
What I know more about --- probably Major League Baseball (I have become sort
of a trivia expert just by reading and watching for years), and the World Cup
Soccer.
My teams --- I am a big fan of the men's national soccer team of Brazil (which
means I've been lucky), but have not been that lucky with my baseball teams, the
San Francisco Giants (who have not won a Baseball World Series since the year
I was born), and of the Cardenales de Lara, my beloved baseball team in my country,
Venezuela, who did not win a championship in their first 25 years, a very long
and painful wait. However, they have won three championships in this decade.
Next I will summarize my sport life and all activities that I have been involved
in:
